The Best Four Years of my Life

About two weeks ago we had to submit our senior quotes for our high school year book. I thought about it for days. What would I contribute? I wanted it to be witty and clever. I wanted it to stand out. I wanted it to be memorable. Finally as the time was running out to submit my response I decided on a quote that had a mediocre amount of wit but fit me so perfectly. We are always told high school is supposed to be the best four years of our lives. But shit, I really hope that’s wrong. And knowing myself I will prove that wrong. I believe people who use that saying are the ones who peaked in high school. I think that is sad. Who cares about high school? The real world sure doesn’t. I want to peak in life. And I will. I’ve been through hell and back in the past four years. They taught me more than ever, and I am not talking about what I learned sitting in a desk in some precal class. I evolved and realized I do not want to live life afraid. We only have one life, one shot at this. I’m going to take the punches as they come and bloom along the way. Maybe one day my quote will attain internet fame as I achieve my dreams. I won’t let anyone or anything stop me from becoming what I want to be. I am thankful to high school for giving me this clarity.

"These were supposed to be the best four years of my life? Can’t be because I’m only going up from here."
