A Long Distance Valentine's Day

First off, Happy Valentine's and Galentines to all my readers. For the first time in my life I am celebrating in a long (medium?) distance relationship. There's a lot of big milestones and holidays that will be this way for a while. My boyfriend being in the military means that for this specific holiday I probably won't even get to talk to him today. He is off somewhere in the middle of know where doing what I like to call "playing war"... lol.
So what will I be doing? What I spent the past year and a half doing: practicing self care and self love. Maybe I'll take myself on a date, or go buy myself flowers. I'll surely be doing a face mask, reading a book, lighting my new rose scented candle, and wearing my cute pink lingerie I bought. All this, because self care and self love does not stop when you get into a relationship whether long distance or not. So I encourage everyone to do an act of self love this year as a reminder.
Long distance can be hard. It is important to remember though that it is only temporary. Eventually you will get to spend every holiday, birthday, and big milestone together. You just have to be willing to push through the sad nights, tough seasons, and God's tests. Eventually it will all be worth it.
In the meantime, I think it is important to make sure to still celebrate by yourself, with friends, and eventually with your partner no matter how late. When you do see each other make sure to make up for that lost time and do something to special to acknowledge the missed holiday or special occasion. It just reminds your partner how much they mean to you.
So have a beautiful day celebrating love. Spread it around to everyone you see. Send it to friends, family, and your significant others. And don't forget to show yourself love as well<3
