I know this blog is not normally a food blog. But this post is going to be a food review because honestly that's as creative I can get right now. So please enjoy my review of all the Trader Joe's ravioli's that I have tried in the past two months.
7. Caprese Ravioli
Although this ravioli is very aesthetically pleasing and pretty, for me it tasted like a sock. It tasted very odd and I did not like it at all. My rating would be a 1/10.
6. Sweet Italian Sausage and 4-Cheese
I had high hopes for this ravioli but unfortunately the Italian sausage tasted off. Maybe it just does not belong in ravioli at all. The texture was gross and so was the flavor. Will not be purchasing again. My rating is a 1/10.
5. Chicken Poblano
I also had high hopes for this choice. I always love chicken in my ravioli or pasta dishes. The ravioli oddly tasted like a sock once again and slightly bland. Overall it was just a huge disappointment. My rating for this one is 4/10.
4. Ricotta and Lemon Zest
The Ricotta and Lemon Zest package was surely interesting. I wouldn't say that I would probably buy it again but it also was not horrible. The lemon zest is an interesting twist of flavor and is oddly satisfying. I would rate it a 5/10.
3. Roasted Cauliflower and Cheese
This ravioli choice was another interesting one. It was pretty good and I liked how it had a stronger roasted cauliflower flavor. At times it had some weird after tastes but otherwise a nice choice. I would rate this one a 7.5/10.
2. Cacio e Pepe
So this one I loved! It's a ricotta stuffed ravioli with black pepper flakes in it. The black pepper was definitely interesting and I loved it. The flavor was delicious and yet subtle. This ravioli was simple but not too simple either. I love this idea of black pepper flakes in the ravioli, as I had never seen this before. I would rate it a 9/10.
1. Beef Bolognese
The Beef Bolognese raviolis at Trader Joe's are my all time favorite choice for raviolis. The savory beef flavor and juices are so delicious. Way better than the chicken option they offer, the beef choice is so good. The flavors this ravioli offers are so rich that they're almost addicting. This choice is rated an easy 10/10!
I hope you enjoyed this mediocre food review of Trader Joe's raviolis. If I am stuck in a writing block or creative rut in the future then maybe you'll be (un)lucky enough to get my food review on Trader Joe's frozen asian food section.
